Causes and Symptoms
Genital warts are passed through vaginal, anal and oral sexual intercourse with an infected person. As condoms do not protect all the skin, genital warts can also be passed when using protection and during close genital contact.
Warts are not easy to detect, especially if they are internal, such as on the anus or inside the vagina. They can also take more than a year to appear after having contact with an infected person.
- They can be small or large lumps that can be flat and smooth or cauliflower-shaped
- They are normally painless but can be itchy and cause inflammation
Treatment
Treatment is by removal through special paints and ointments, surgical removal or freezing methods.
