Laparascopic sterilisation is available to clients who are medically suitable and whose pregnancy is less than 14 weeks. Please contact the clinic for more information.
You may wish to consider having either procedure at the time of your abortion if you have decided your family is complete or if you are on a waiting list elsewhere for sterilisation. Sterilisation should be considered irreversible.
Please note: There is evidence from published data that a sterilisation performed at the time of abortion has a greater risk of failure than if the sterilisation is performed at a later date.
