Patients
Charter
OUR AIMS ARE THAT:
- You are treated with kindness, skill and
sympathetic consideration in a safe and pleasant environment.
THIS MEANS THAT:
- We will respect your privacy, dignity,
and religious beliefs.
- You will be offered a specific appointment
time. We aim to see all patients within 30 minutes of their
appointment. Sometimes unavoidable delays may occur. If you
have to wait longer than 30 minutes at any time, an early explanation
will be given to you.
- You will be informed of the name and role
of the staff involved in your treatment and care.
- You will be given a clear explanation of
the proposed treatment, including any possible complications,
before you decide to proceed.
- We suggest that if you have any questions,
you write them down so that you dont forget them. Some
patients like to know a lot, others as little as they need.
We want to meet your personal requirements.
- You may see your own records.
- We will keep all information relating to
you and your treatment here completely confidential.
- You may choose to have your operation under
local or general anaesthetic, and can discuss these options
with the doctor at your consultation. He/she will assess your
medical suitability and advise if there are any contra-indications
for either.
- Complaints will be investigated thoroughly,
speedily and impartially. We aim to give a full written response
within four weeks.
We endeavour to comply at all times with the
above Charter, however, we would ask all patients to treat the
staff with the same consideration that they would wish to receive
themselves.
Although we aim to provide the very best care,
we do welcome suggestions and complaints so that we continue to
improve our service for all patients.
