South Manchester Private Clinic (SMPC) in the north west of England promotes the sexual health of men, women and young people.
We aim to provide quality, safe and affordable services in accordance with professional standards to both private clients and on contract to the NHS for termination of pregnancy, sterilisation, vasectomy and vasectomy reversal.
Our staff are suitably experienced and qualified. They undergo routine continuous professional development to keep their knowledge current and follow the required standards for operating services. Every member of staff is screened for working with vulnerable people and receives intensive induction training on our vision, policies and procedures.
We aim to:
- Treat all clients with kindness and sympathetic consideration in a safe and pleasant environment. We will respect your privacy, dignity, and religious beliefs.
- See all clients within 30 minutes of their appointed time, however sometimes unavoidable delays may occur. If you have to wait longer than 30 minutes at any time, an early explanation will be provided.
- Inform you of the name and role of each staff member involved in your treatment and care.
- Provide a clear explanation of your proposed treatment, including any possible complications, before you decide to proceed. If we are unable to fulfil your treatment requirement we will refer you to another healthcare provider with specialist services.
- Not influence your decision but provide the facts for you to make an informed choice.
- Answer any questions. We suggest that if you have any questions, you write them down so that you do not forget them. We want to meet your personal requirements; whether you wish to know in depth details about your treatment or just the basic ‘need to know’ information.
- Provide access to your own records at your request.
- Keep all information relating to you and your treatment at SMPC completely confidential.
- Give you the opportunity to discuss with a doctor the option of local or general anaesthetic for your treatment, if appropriate. He/she will assess your medical suitability and advise if there are any contra-indications for either.
- Deal with complaints rapidly, impartially and to investigate thoroughly. We aim to give a full written response within four weeks.
We will endeavour to comply at all times with the above values, however, we would ask all clients to treat the staff with the same consideration that they would wish to receive themselves.
We strive to provide each and every client with the best care and welcome suggestions and complaints so that we continue to improve our service.
